What Medium and Style should I choose for my image?
We offer a wide variety of sizes and mediums for fine art images:
Luster Photo Paper – refers to archive-quality photo paper. All the images will look terrific printed on paper, with any of the combinations of matting and framing. Luster paper has a slight sheen and will have that luxurious fine art finish.
For best long-term results and to protect your image for years to come, having the image matted and framed is the best option. The matting will be a brilliant white to offer excellent contrast to the color or Black & White photo. Our frames are affordable, and ship with high quality acrylic instead of glass. This makes a framed photo lighter and easier to handle and removes the worry of glass breaking in transit. We only use archive quality materials and your image will be bright and brilliant for many years to come if protected from direct sunlight.
Metal Prints - High gloss metal is the richest choice and makes the colors and details of the photo come to life even more. High gloss metal has one drawback, and that is glare. If the image is displayed in an area with a lot of light, either natural or from overhead lighting, you are likely to get a very noticeable glare.
If glare is likely a problem, then a matte metal print is a better choice. The image will still have the crisp bright colors but without the glare from the lighting and without a glossy finish. (Please contact me for assistance with ordering Matte Metal prints or for advice regarding which type of metal print is best for your situation.)
Canvas Prints - Stretched canvas on a wooden frame is a terrific option for images. Most of my images look terrific on canvas, which tends to soften the image slightly. For larger image sizes, canvas is lighter and easier to hang, a good thing to keep in mind as you are making your style selections. For large sizes, you can consider printing only the canvas and then having it stretched over a wooden frame at an art or framing store in your neighborhood. This is a cost-effective way of purchasing large sized images and reducing shipping costs.
Acrylic Prints - Acrylic prints offer that pop of color and ultra high definition that makes people stop and say "Wow!". We offer two different styles 1/4" acrylic and 1/8th acrylic with a choice of backing / hanging styles. Either a French Cleat system or 1" metal standoff posts in each corner. The post style allows the photo to appear to jump off the wall! Acrylic prints are glossy and extremely durable.
